Right from sending messages to playing games and from setting an alarm to capturing beautiful moments of life. Smartphones have become an essential part of our lives
But one question has to be answered.
Is it really worth spending Thousands of Rupees for a smartphone?

Here are 3 smartphones which are efficient as well as affordable. :

 1. Xiaomi Redmi Note 4(32GB):

  1. There is not much difference Redmi Note 4 an Note 3. Note 4 comes with a full metal body design. It is relatively slimmer to than its predecessor at 8.5 mm.
  2.  It uses a 2.5D curved glass. The display is pretty much similar to Note 3.  It has a full HD IPS LCD 1080p panel. The display saturation can also be tweaked in the settings menu.
  3. It runs on android 7.0 (Nougat) with the latest MIUI 9. The new MIUI 9 update also brings features like quick switch, multi-window, new icon animation, etc. The new MIUI 9 update has also made the device a lot snappier or in other words, faster.
  4. Now moving on to the camera, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 has a primary 13MP shooter with f2.0 aperture. In bright daylight, the pictures taken from the Note 4 have an average color reproduction with sharp images. The dynamic range is average and makes a considerable difference when shifted to the HDR mode
  5. The Redmi Note 4 has a 5MP, f2.0 aperture selfie shooter. In bright daylight the pictures come out moderately sharp with nice color reproduction and medium beautification. Although in artificial and low lighting conditions the camera suffers a bit. A little amount of noise creeps in and the pictures come out a bit soft but overall it has an above average selfie shooter when compared with the other Smartphone’s in this price range. Coming to the video quality this phone can shoot just up to 1080p which is a slight disappointment.
  6. On the Performance side, the Redmi Note 4 has 3GB Ram and an octacore snapdragon 625 processor which can run 10 apps at a time. Thanks to the snapdragon 625 processor the phone doesn’t heat up and is quite power efficient. It also excels in heavy gaming and does not skip many frames. The overall gaming experience is spectacular.
  7.   It has a massive 4100 mah Lithium ion battery which can withstand heavy usage for 1-2 days. When the 4100 mah battery is combined with the extremely power efficient snapdragon 625 processor it gives a spectacular battery life. The audio output from the 3.5mm jack is pretty great and the audio output via the internal speakers is above average.

  2. Lenovo K8 Plus:

  1. The Lenovo K8 Plus has a full metal body which comes in matte black and a gold variant. The matte black variant manages to attract many fingerprints which don’t go off easily.
  2.  It has an IPS LCD 1080p display panel spread over 5.2 inches. The display appears to be crisp and the colors reproduction is average. The display is also covered with corning’s 2.5D curved glass. The phone itself is very thick at 9mm thickness.
  3.  K8 plus runs on stock android and has android Nougat with an Oreo update on the cards. Lenovo has also included some of its features such as theatre max.
  4.  There is a dual camera setup on the Lenovo K8 Plus in which one of the camera is the common camera having the RGB sensor and the other camera has a monochrome sensor for collecting better details. The first camera with the RGB sensor is a 13MP with the 5MP monochrome depth sensing camera. Pictures shot in bright daylight come out really sharp with good details and nice color reproduction.
  5. It has an 8 MP front camera which performs quite well in daylight situations with a lot of detail and nice color reproduction with below average dynamic range. It can shoot videos only till 1080p which is a slight disappointment. The quality itself is good with nice color reproduction and again below average dynamic range. The overall camera performs slightly better than the Redmi note 4.
  6.  Moving on to the performance, the Lenovo K8 plus has 3GB RAM and a Mediatek P25 processor. In daily usage the snapdragon 625 processor outperforms the Mediatek P25. The Redmi note 4 is slightly faster than the Lenovo K8 plus in opening apps. When it comes to the gaming performance the Lenovo K8 Plus plays all the heavy games with minimum frame drops and offers a smooth gaming experience,It also heats up quite a bit while gaming for more than 15-20 minutes.
  7.  It has massive 4000mah battery which can easily last for a day on heavy usage. The battery life on the Lenovo K8 plus lags behind Redmi Note 4 in the battery life due its battery drain in the standby mode. The dual 13 MP cameras perform average in daylight condition as it is very poor in getting the color right and also has poor dynamic range.
  4.  The front camera is of 8MP and captures plenty of detail in daylight but tends to over sharpen the image quite a few times, the color reproduction in daylight shots are above average. Selfies taken in artificial and low light conditions turn out soft have a blue tint to them. Any type of software or hardware stabilization is not present. The billion capture plus can capture videos up to 1080p.

Educationist Maria Montessori once said, "Early childhood education is the key to the betterment of society”. Our schooling heavily influences what we are in society today. We all remember our school days with much fondness, the memories of our friends and teachers bring us great joy. In all the memories we have of school, the morning assembly is often neglected.
